Product Information
DDW-1O Dual Wavelength Detector:
At half the price of competitive dual wavelength HPLC UV-Vis detectors,
the DDW-10 is a common sense approach to dual wavelength monitoring.
The benefit to the user is dual wavelength detection at a single wavelength
price.
The DDW-10 is ideal for applications such as protein, peptides, and
amino acid analysis including Ninhydrin amino acid derivatives. Most
analyses of proteins and peptides are carried out at two wavelengths:
214 and 280nm respectively. Many investigators, however, will purchase
a premium priced dual wavelength detector which offers many times the
capabilities they will ever need for the analyses they require.
GAT D-Star developed the DDW-10 after listening to these same scientists
and now offers a viable, economical alternative at half the price of
a full spectrum, scanning, and dual wavelength detector. To be fair,
many of these higher priced dual wavelength detectors, including some
diode array detectors purchased for the dual wavelength applications,
contain sophisticated software designed to provide various mathematical
manipulations including absorbance ratios and differentials. Most of
these sophisticated features are readily available as part of the many
excellent chromatography software packages currently being sold. We
chose not "to reinvent the wheel."
The DDW-10 combines a Deuterium and/or a Tungsten light source with
specific interference filters selected by the user. Two separate information
channels are used to display and output the absorbance at the two wavelengths
selected. This means both absorbencies are simultaneously available
without loss of chromatographic information, as is the case with dual
wavelength systems, which scan between both wavelengths. The price of
the instrument includes the prep flowcell (other flowcells are available).
DFW-20; DFW-20C/21C Fixed Wavelength Detectors:
The DFW-20 and DFW-20C/21C are highly sensitive fixed wavelength detectors
for UV-Vis operation with prices starting at under $1,300.00. All fixed
wavelength detectors come standard with the analytical flowcell. The
DFW-20 cannot be upgraded to any other wavelength. If there is any intention
to upgrade from a 254nm lamp to a 280, 365, 420, and 505nm lamp or any
other lamp/filter combination, then the DFW-20C should be ordered. The
DFW-21C comes standard with a 280nm phosphor coated lamp and filter.
Other wavelengths kits such as 365, 420, and 505 are available as additional
cost accessories.
This detector is ideal for routine analysis and monitoring of constituents
in many applications. Its lightweight and very small footprint make
the instrument perfect for procedures calling for chromatography in
cramped spaces such as laboratory hoods.
The DFW-20 and the DFW-20C/21C can be used for both HPLC, low-pressure
chromatography, with the semi-prep flowcell, and non-chromatographic
techniques. The specifications on these series of instruments are equivalent
to instruments twice its price. The unit has eight absorbance ranges
for use with strip chart recorders, an autozero function, and provides
a 10mV output for recorders and a 1V/AU output for data systems and
integrators.
DVW-10 Variable Wavelength Detector:
Priced below any other variable wavelength detector (including the
analytical flowcell), the DVW-10 is a high quality UV-Vis variable wavelength
detector capable of 195 to 800nm operation. It offers the best price/performance
ratio around. Why buy performance specifications you do not need and
at budget busting prices that make no sense? The DVW-10 interfaces with
anybody's HPLC system. Replace your aging UV-Vis detector now at a cost
probably less than you paid for it originally.
The DVW-10 is simple to operate, has a small footprint, is lightweight
and is thus ideal for those situations where bench space is a premium.
Selection of absorbance ranges and wavelength is accomplished via scrolling
keys on the front panel or remote selection via voltage contact closures
available at the cable output at the rear of the instrument. Autozero,
wavelength selection, and event mark controls are also on the front
panel of the instrument. Autozero can also be controlled remotely. Absorbance
and wavelength are available on a 4.5 digit display.
The DVW-10 uses a deuterium lamp for 195-360nm operations. Wavelengths
from 360 to 800nm are achieved with an optional pre-aligned tungsten
lamp assembly.
Its unique modular design, including an innovative optical bench, permits
easy configuration of the instrument for OEM applications. The available
flowcells for the DVW-10 (and DDW-10) are an analytical flowcell (SS
and PEEK) microbore (SS and PEEK), prep, and semi-prep; the latter two
are of PEEK construction or SS.
DLC-10,
DLC-10C, DLC-11C, DLC-10CP, and DLC-11CP Isocratic HPLC Systems:
These are complete HPLC systems with an integrated UV-Vis Fixed Wavelength
Detector for either 254nm or 280nm operation. Other wavelengths, dependent
upon applications, are available by special order.
The DLC-10 is the lowest priced HPLC system in the market. This system
employs a 254nm Hg lamp and power supply that does not permit up grading
to any other wavelength.
The DLC-10C and 11C can operate to system pressures of 3000 PSI. They
come equipped with the standard "PAEK™" valve. There is no pressure
read out on these units. System pressure is obtained using the "Star-Chrom™"
software when these systems are purchased as automatic isocratic (DIS-10/11)
or gradient systems (DGS-10/11) or the new Star-Chrom Lite™ software
when the instrument is fitted with a pressure transducer.
The DLC-10CP and DLC-11CP can operate to system pressures of 5000 PSI
with the standard 10.0ml pump head. These instruments have front panel
read out of pressure and a position-sensing valve as standard features.
The "CP" instruments are priced slightly higher than the "C" instruments.
The "C" and "CP" configurations can be up-graded to other available
wavelengths. The high-pressure systems are available in SS construction
only.
All the standard fixed wavelength systems can be obtained in either
"SS" or "PEEK"" configurations for the same price.
All of the above systems come standard with either a PEEK or SS analytical
flowcell dependent the users option. A preparative flowcell, semi-preparative
flowcells and a microbore flowcell are also available.
The pumping system on all the instruments is a high quality single piston
pump with a built in pulse damper. A two-stage injection valve with
a 20µl loop is standard.
Detector analog voltages for data acquisition are located at the rear
of the instruments, and include a remote capability for selecting absorbance
ranges via contact closures. The pump has an RS-232 jack for acquiring
pump information. Pump flow rates are from 0.01ml to 10ml.
The DLC-20 and DLC-20P are complete HPLC systems with a variable wavelength
detector built in at the price of most variable wavelength detectors
alone. They combine a precision UV-Vis detector operating between 195-800nm
with a time tested single piston pump to form low cost isocratic systems.
Although not designed to replace the more expensive and larger systems,
the DLC-20 and 20P, with their small size, price, and versatility are
an ideal answer for routine QC analysis. Several DLC-20/20P can be dedicated
to methods much less expensively than buying one larger and more expensive
gradient system; particularly since most QC procedures are isocratic
in nature.
The DLC-20 can be obtained in PEEK construction for bio- compatibility
or in SS at the same price. The DLC-20P is available only in SS construction.
Similar to the DLC-10CP/11CP the DLC-20P can operate to 5000 PSI with
the standard 10ml pump head (SS). All controls are conveniently located
on the front of the instrument. There are two LED displays. One is dedicated
to the pump while the other displays detector absorbance and wavelength
information. On the DLC-20P the pump display also indicates system operating
pressure and preset alarm values. The rear panel has the analog voltage
outputs for data acquisition and outputs for contact closures permitting
remote control of absorbance and wavelength.
The DLC-20 comes standard with a two-stage valve and 20µl loop (either
PEEK or SS). The 20P adds a position-sensing valve.
The DIS-10/11 is the lowest priced computer assisted isocratic HPLC
system in the industry.
DIS-20/20P
Low Priced Automated Isocratic HPLC Systems with Variable Wavelength
Detector:
Similar to the DIS-10/11 and DIS-10P/11P, the DIS-20/20P combines the
GAT D-Star DLC-20 isocratic HPLC system with variable wavelength detection
with the new Star-ChromTM dual channel software package providing the
lowest priced automated HPLC system with an integrated variable wavelength
detector. The software can acquire data from two detectors but can only
control one. The software can set wavelength on the detector dependent
upon the wavelength used in the method. Complete system automation is
possible by adding an autosampler such as the Model DAS-10 Star-ChromTM
automatically acquires the data, processes it and makes it available
for further calculations and calibration, and can report the data out
in custom report. All facets of the HPLC method can be programmed including
pump flow rates, peak detection, absorbance range, and autozero in addition
to the wavelength.
In comparison to other isocratic systems in the market the DIS-20 is
priced thousands of dollars less.
DGS-10/11
and DGS-10P/11P Automated Binary gradient, Fixed Wavelength HPLC Systems:
The DGS-10/11 and DGS-10P/11P are the lowest priced automated binary
gradient systems in the market. The systems combine the GAT D-Star DLC-
10/11 with a second pump for high-pressure delivery and mixing of the
mobile phases. The Star-ChromTM dual channel 32 bit, Windows 95, 98
and NT based software permits RS-232 control of both pumps and simple
programming of the flow rates. Similar to the DIS-10/11 the software
acquires, processes, and reports out the data generated from the chromatographic
run. Peak detection, autozero, and absorbance ranges can be programmed
with the software.
DGS-20/20P,
The Lowest Priced Automated Variable Wavelength, Binary Gradient HPLC
Systems:
The DGS-20/20P incorporates the GAT D-Star DLC-20/20P with a second pump
and the new Star-ChromTM dual channel Windows 95, 98 and NT based software
for data acquisition and instrument control.
Mixing of the solvents takes place in a precision mixing tee/pressure
transducer with a minimum of dead volume. The software permits simple
programming for the gradients. The two pumps are controlled via RS-232
serial ports. Detector control is accomplished via contact closures.
This provides precise wavelength and absorbance range control.
The data is acquired from two detectors, if desired, where the software
automatically controls the built in detector. For the DGS-10/11, DGS-10P/11P
and the DGS-20/20P a CPU with an available COM port is required. All
Star-ChromTM systems can be operated with both standard PC's and laptops.
The complete systems are priced far below any other comparable system.
DHS-10 and DTS-10 Spectrophotometers:
The DHS series are rugged, precise, full scale, absorbance spectrophotometers
ideal for field, plant, and laboratory use. They are the next generation
of hand held, portable metering instruments for applications requiring
photometric analysis.
The DTS are tabletop, line operated, full-scale absorbance spectrophotometers
in a rugged compact case. The DTS-10 is a precise instrument ideal for
laboratory or plant operations. It offers multi-applications process
metering for a wide variety of methods.
Both instruments can be used for many industrial, biotechnical, or clinical
methods. This includes use in such areas as utilities, general manufacturing,
process and quality control, geology and mining, food processing and
testing, petrochemical and environmental testing, agriculture and aquaculture,
and clinical and diagnostic testing.
DFL-10
an Economical Fluorescence Detector For HPLC:
The new GAT D-Star Instruments DFL-10 HPLC Fluorescence detector provides
the sensitivity and the specificity of fluorescence detection at a price
consistent with most low cost UV detectors.
Sensitivity is enhanced in the DFL-10 by the new analytical flowcell
that employs a unique excitation and emission geometry, a completely
closed optical compartment, and a thermally stabilized system.
The DFL-10 can be configured with a choice of lamps covering the UV
and Visible regions of the spectrum. Choices include Deuterium (at an
additional cost with a recommended expanded range photomultiplier),
254nm, 280nm, and 365nm Hg lamps, and a W lamp for the visible spectrum
up to 870nm. The user may select, in addition to the lamps, a standard
instrument which will employ all the lamps with the exception of the
Deuterium with a standard Photomultiplier (PMT) or the extended range
PMT.
Excitation and emission filters are not included in the base price of
the instrument and must be selected on the basis of the application
requirements.
The DFL-10 has a number of outstanding features surpassing all other
filter fluorescence instruments including built in diagnostics, rise
time controls, zero offset, autozero, automatic gain control (high voltage)
and with the D2 or Tungsten versions the ability to shut lamp energy
off for reading chemo- and Bio-luminescence.
DAS-10
Low Cost Autosampler:
- The Autosampler comes standard with a twenty-position carousel accommodating
12 x 32mm vials (1.5ml volume). The autosampler may be used as a stand-alone
instrument or in conjunction with chromatography support software, which
activates it contact closures.
Some of the DAS-10 outstanding features include all electric operation,
fixed loop and partial loop injection, simple to use front panel programming
and remote programming from a CPU, including programmable auto wash
after each injection, multiple injection programming, selection of vials,
timed, or scheduled programming, and sample volume. The autosampler
is small enough to fit in a hood, minimum sample volume of 50µl, and
minimum injection volume of 5µl (when used with micro vial inserts).
The Model DAS-10 is priced at less than one half the cost of many autosamplers
in the market. It was designed to fit a specific need at a specific
budget level. The Model DAS-10 Autosampler is designed to offer the
user a low priced alternative to the more expensive autosamplers in
today's market.
The GAT-DStar's instruments are available at attractive prices.
